CIBC Aventura Rewards
CIBC Rewards is the loyalty program of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. You can earn points from credit cards that offer the Aventura rewards. These points can be used for different things such as gift cards, buying items, paying off your credit card balance, and investing in self-directed accounts like TFSA and RRSP with CIBC. You can also use your points to book flights, hotels, and vacations through their online travel agency, as well as for certain eligible transactions made with your CIBC credit cards.
-
You have a few options for credit cards that let you earn Aventura rewards. When it comes to applying for these cards or qualifying for WB, CIBC doesn't have any set rules or restrictions. The main factor that determines your eligibility is the total amount of credit that CIBC is willing to extend to you.

You cannot transfer Aventura points to another person's account. Each credit card has its own rewards account. However, if you have multiple cards as the same user, you can transfer points between those cards to make it easier to redeem them. To do this, you can call the CIBC Rewards Centre at 1-888-232-5656.
-
You can use Aventura points to get discounts on eligible purchases. The fixed rate for redemption is 0.625 CPP, which means for every 1,000 points, you get $6.25 off. Until March 31, 2024, there is a special offer where travel purchases can be redeemed at a higher rate of 1.25 CPP, giving you more value.
You can also use Aventura points towards certain banking products. For every 12,000 points, you can get $100 towards those products.
To use the Shopping with Points feature, follow these steps:
Make an eligible travel purchase in Canadian dollars.
While the purchase is still being processed, go to the CIBC Banking webpage.
Find your transaction and choose to redeem your points for the purchase.
Aventura points can also be used for flights using the Flight Rewards Chart. If you have a VIP card, you can even redeem points for business class flights.

If you had an Aventura credit card before 2014, you have a grandfathered ability to transfer your Aventura points to your Aeroplan Account at a 1:1 ratio. It doesn't matter if the points came from other accounts that may not be as old. As long as you transferred them to your old Aventura card, you can still transfer them to your Aeroplan Account.
However, if you became a cardholder in 2014 or later, you won't have this ability. This is because TD took over the main contract to issue Aeroplan cobrand credit cards from CIBC, and they phased out this ability at that time.

As long as you have an Aventura credit card that earns points, your Aventura points won't expire.

I made a travel purchase on my card but I do not see the option to redeem points against it
Make sure that the transaction is still pending.
I'm not seeing the accelerated rate for travel redemptions
Ensure you booked a hotel and not a reservation through VRBO/Airbnb as those are known to not code correctly for the purposes of redeeming points.
